Is Apple iPad Big Success or Big Miss? | Jeff Kagan Tech Analyst

ATLANTA, GA, March 16, 2012 — Comment from Jeff Kagan, Tech Analyst at www.jeffkagan.com
I just checked Google news and they say there are 50,000 news stories about the new Apple iPad today. Busy news day.
When the first iPad came out I thought it was incredible. I was right.
But when the second iPad came out, I thought it was a bit of a yawner. I was wrong. It was another super successful product.
Apple continues to roll accross the tech industry.
As it turned out there were all sorts of hidden goodies that users found as they were using it.
So how do I rate this new, third iPad?
Do I dare give it another yawner?
Well, the truth is yes and no. Let me explain.
iPad three, looks and acts and works exactly like iPad two, but it does have some interesting new features like the improved screen.
We will also likely find many new interesting features that consumers will love that we just don’t know about yet.
However, putting all that aside, I beleive this new Apple iPad will be another smashing success even if it has nothing more than an improved screen because their customers are infected with the Apple infection which sends them back to the store to buy the next version as soon as it hits the shelves.
That is Apples secret.
They don’t have to introduce much that is new, and they still succeed beyond our wildest dreams.
Apple’s big job is to keep the marketplace under its spell. The rest is just noise.
